Chicago's Pothole Reimbursement Program Has Some Problems
Posted January 17th, 2014 @ 9:29am

This winter's extreme weather conditions have potholes popping up in greater size and number all throughout Chicago and, no surprisingly, they're causing many drivers big problems.

If your vehicle is damaged by one of these potholes, the city welcomes you to download and fill out a claim form through the city clerk's office. However, your problems might not be over there.

DNAinfo Chicago did some investigating and discovered it could take close to a year for the city of Chicago to get back to you. Then your claim might not even be approved. DNAinfo reports, "Generally, they will only be paid a portion of the cost of repair."

The city has been averaging upwards of 1,000 claims filed every winter.
