A drug overdose is to blame in the death of Kris Kross rapper Chris Kelly. The 34-year old rapper passed away suddenly on May 1st after being found unresponsive in his Atlanta, Georgia home.
According to TMZ.com, an investigator from the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that Kelly died from a mixture of drugs. However, the investigator didn't reveal which drugs were found in Kelly's system. The official cause of death does not come as a surprise, as authorities had suspected that drugs played a role.
Kelly was one-half of the 1990s kid rap duo Kris Kross with fellow rapper Chris Smith. Known as "Mac Daddy" and "Daddy Mac," the pair released their first album Totally Krossed Out in 1992. Among the songs on the album was their smash hit "Jump," which held the number one spot on the charts for eight weeks.
