Flavor Flav's famous clock chain may come in handy today. That's because today the rapper has two important appointments to keep. Flav is scheduled to appear in a Las Vegas courtroom to face felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon and child endangerment. But his rap group Public Enemy is also being inducted into the Rock-and-Roll Hall Of Fame in Los Angeles.
Public Enemy is just the fourth hip-hop act to enter the Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame, following Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five, Run D.M.C., and the Beastie Boys.
Late disco diva Donna Summer will also be inducted in the Hall. Summer passed away last May after a battle with lung cancer. Other artists who will be inducted tonight include Albert King, Randy Newman, Rush and Heart. Producers Quincy Jones and Lou Adler will also be inducted as the winners of the Ahmet Ertegun Award for non-performers.
The Rock Hall ceremony is scheduled to take place at Los Angeles' Nokia Theater, starting at 7:00 p.m. Pacific. HBO will also broadcast the ceremony on May 18th at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.
