Would you believe that crime goes down during Bears games in the city? Two researchers did a study of crime in Chicago from '01-'13 and compared the by-minute crime stats both while the game was being televised and when no game was on.
One of the researchers was quoted as saying, ""In general, we find substantial declines during games across crime types — property, violent, drug and other — with the largest reductions for drug crime,".
