A man was shot by police after he tried to rob a Maywood Burger King on Sunday night, and a bystander captured the gunfire on a cell phone video.
At about 8:18 p.m., Maywood police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Burger King Restaurant near Lake Street and North First Avenue.As the 42-year-old suspected robber left the premises, Maywood police officers were just arriving. Police fired at the suspect, whose name has not been released. It is unclear whether the suspect fired at police during the incident.
