The shooter responsible for firing in a Virginia Beach city building Friday afternoon, killing 12 people
and sending at least four others to the hospital, was a resentful utility worker and employee; who later
died after a long gunfight with officers. Making this the biggest mass shooting this year. Friday’s rampage
is believed to be the worst mass killing in Virginia Beach’s history actually. In the U.S., it is the deadliest
attack since the November 2018 shooting at Borderline Bar & Grill in California, when 12 people were
killed. In Virginia Beach city, one victim was shot in a car and the gunman fired without a target as he
went through all three floors of Building 2 at the city's municipal center. An officer involved in the
gunfight was also shot. The officer survived, thanks to a bullet proof vest. The shooting suspect was
identified as DeWayne Craddock. Craddock, 40, worked as a certified professional engineer for the city
of Virginia Beach in the Public Utilities Department. President Trump has been briefed on the shooting.
