A MANHUNT IS UNDERWAY IN DOLTON!!

Two robbery suspects were in a shoot out with Dolton police officers yesterday! The ordeal began about 1:30 p.m.. Two armed men robbed an employee at Sibley Car Credit, 519 E. Sibley Blvd., according to authorties. An officer and confrontation ensued as the two robbery suspects trying to get away.

One of the suspects pulled out a gun and started shooting. The officer returned fire and fell to the ground to take cover. Dolton Village Trustee Andrew Holmes described the confrontation at a “gun battle.” One of the suspects was shot in the thigh. The 19 year old was taken into police custody and to a hospital where he is listed in serious condition.

The other suspect is still at large and believed to be 19 years old as well. Police believe he is still in the area and urge residents to use extreme caution.
