Toys From Tone Kicked off with Latrice!

Our friends at Ada S. McKinley are celebrating 100 years of community service in Chicago and enrollment for their head start schools. To honor Ada S. McKinley, I wanted to celebrate the holidays by giving your kids Toys from Tone.

We were able to gift Patrice Gamble's daughter, Latrice an LOL OMG Doll! We also gifted them with a $500 check! Read Patrice's submission here:

My daughter is 11 years old. She always been on the honor roll since she started school. She had to deal with holding off from things she can’t have and activities she use to participate in, at the moment due to me losing my job. I know she is worth the only thing she is asking for, which is a LOL OMG Winter Disco 24K Doll. The good thing is when I told My daughter we might be having a late Christmas she gave me a hug and said that’s OK mommy

I am nominating Tiyanna because she’s well worth it. Tiyanna’s father was killed on the streets of Chicago when she was 15 months. One thing about Tiyanna is no matter what happened she always remained happy. Tiyanna have participated in the Chicago park district gymnastics 3 years straight bring home 1st places in the regional and citywide. She is very intelligent and smart for her age. She’s 6 years old reading and doing math at a 3rd grade level. I am very proud of her.

My son Nazario is an 11years old 6grader with A's & B's Honor roll. Such an amazing young boy any mother will be bless to have. Unfortunately I'm a single mother and our xmas hasn’t been Christmas. In The last 4 yrs we was homeless, after being able to get us a home it was hard to make my income meet with Bills and rent at times hard to buy groceries. I wanna nominate my only son to be placed on your Christmas list because every child deserves a great Christmas sometimes. What amazes me he never ask why he hasn’t received presents.

My kids been through so much they are so loving and strong kids they help me out so much around the house. They watch out for one another and do so well in school. I lost My 16 year old son 3 years ago on Thanksgiving Day to the violence in the streets. Holidays haven’t been the same for us, but they really do deserve a wonderful Christmas. I recently lost my job so really can‚Äôt afford gifts right now I will really appreciate your help to put a smile on their face this Christmas. Happy Holidays

My 4 children Ondrell 15, Karmello 9, Sirenity 8, & Trinity 7 are wonderful children in spite of our struggle. I am a single mother who works 2nd shift 10-7:30 and this leaves me merely no time to spend with them during the week. My 15 year old son is a STRAIGHT A Student and has gotten a work permit from school to get a job to help me financially. I hate he can’t work though because he watches his younger siblings while I work. My other 3 are extremely helpful, motivating, and encouraging to me in our toughest moments.
