On Wednesday, 24- year- old Aireon Luster was charged with first degree murder and first degree attempted murder after the deadly shooting ended with 7-year-old Serenity Broughton being fatally shot.
On August 15, Serenity and Aubrey Broughton was being put inside of a vehicle by their mother when shots started to fire on 6200 block of West Grand Avenue. The suspect was arrested in the basement of his grandmother’s house in Riverside.
He was initially charged in September, but was released due to lack of evidence. However, new information finally resurfaced.
Authorities believe that the shooter was targeting a relative in the home.
