Downtown Chicago will be PACKED this afternoon for the annual Columbus Day parade. Meanwhile, a two day Indigenous Peoples Day Festival is being held at the Logan Square Auditorium. The showcase will be featuring indigenous artists.
Indigenous People's Day has recently arisen as an alternative to Columbus Day. Native Americans have said that the day is representative of Columbus' violent history of colonization.
