ABC7 has reported that the family members of an 11 year old girl are demanding charges be pressed in her case. The 11 year old alleges that she was sexually abused on her way home from school. A possible suspect has been identified, according to a community activist.
This activist says that after the girl identified hr alleged attacker to her grandmother, the alleged suspect was spotted and community members held them until police arrived. The suspect was released with ought charge, pending further investigation. Her grandmother, Lutia Payne Midcalf, said "And you trying to tell me they gonna let this man go? You telling me that? I'm not accepting that."
Police Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan said "We are working with the state's attorney's office in order to build, in order to make an arrest and get to charging."
