According to WGN, the Chicago Fire FC have announced plans to build a $650 million soccer stadium in the South Loop. The new stadium will be built atop "the 78", a large plot of land in the South Loop that the city has been the proposed site for several developments over the years. The Chicago Fire have proposed a 22,000 seat, open air soccer stadium that will cover roughly 9 acres of the site.
