Chicago Youth Programs
Chicago Youth Programs (CYP) is a long‑standing Chicago nonprofit committed to giving young people the support, stability, and opportunities they need to thrive—from birth through age 25. Founded in 1984 by Northwestern medical students, CYP has grown from a single program in Cabrini‑Green to an organization serving youth and families across most of the city’s wards. Its model is built on an asset‑based, long‑term approach: mitigating risks, building strengths, and staying with each young person for more than a decade on average.
CYP provides a comprehensive network of free, accessible services, including pediatric clinics, academic tutoring, mentoring, recreation, and social‑emotional learning—complete with door‑to‑door transportation to remove barriers to participation. At its core is a belief in equity and access, ensuring every child has the chance to pursue education, stability, and a life‑sustaining career.
Supporting Chicago Youth Programs helps sustain this deep, generational investment in Chicago’s young people and strengthens the path toward a more equitable future.
