Chance the Rapper held a press conference at Wescott Elementary School Monday, where he announced a million dollar donation to the Chicago Public School system.
In addition to his million dollar donation, Chano revealed that his non-profit organization SocialWorks will be donating $10,000 to select Chicago schools, starting with Westcott Elementary.
The donations will be funded through ticket sales and a partnership with AEG and Ticketmaster.
Chance urged other businesses to follow suit until state legislators get it together.
The press conference came to fruition after an unsuccessful meeting with Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner late last week.
Chance closed the press conference with a follow up message to Gov. Rauner, "Do your job!"
