According to CBS news, Kenneka Jenkins autopsy revealed she died from hypothermia. The autopsy also showed alcohol and topiramate, an epilepsy/migraine medication, in her system. Her alcohol concentration was 0.112 when the legal number in lllinois is 0.08 according to the coroners office.
Alcohol and topiramate are both synergistic. When they are both combined, the effect of either or both drugs is enhanced. Topiramate, like alcohol, can cause dizziness, impaired memory, and distortion. Her family reportedly told investigators that she didn't have a prescription for the topiramate medication.
