Tupac's Estate Celebrates National Poetry Month With Fan Competition

Part of Tupac's undeniable allure involved his talent for poetry and the rap icon's fearless ability to put sentiments on the frontline for the sake of emoting. To match that passion, the late titan's estate is celebrating his love for writing with a new poetry competition and the release of limited edition merchandise.

On Wednesday (April 24), his estate announced the launch of the competition in honor of National Poetry Month, which has been appropriately titled "Tupac Poetry Month Competition," and it invites fans to submit poems about the many ways that he inspired them. As for the rules and regulations, fans must submit the poetry in English. In addition to excluding sexually explicit, derogatory or profrane wording, the poetry must not include any talk of illegal drugs, tobacco, alcohol weapons, "or any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous."

Contest entries will be entered to win a limited edition merchandise bundle, which includes swag inspired by Pac's poetry. Among the items currently available on his online store include a denim jacket, hoodie, T-shirts, tote bag, pencil set, and a "Life Through My Eyes" journal. Click here to enter the contest!
