16 year old, Akeira Foster, was shot in killed last night sitting in a friend's car outside, Moonlight Food & Liquors on 142nd & Woodlawn in Dolton. According to witnesses, at around 8pm last night, a car circled the block twice and then returned. At the same time the owner of the car Akeira was sitting in returned from the convenience store. The car then pulled up slowly and someone began firing shots into the vehicle. Akeira was shot twice in her abdomen and taken to University of Chicago medical where she died as a result of her injuries. Akeira was not the intended target.
