In promotion for their new Netflix music competition, Rhythm + Flow, Cardi B and Chance the Rapper took to T.I.'s "expediTiOUSLY" podcast on Tuesday (October 15) for a cross-promotion appearance. Now, their showing wasn't meant to be a political chat, but it turned that way when both Cardi and Chance agreed that President Donald Trump will likely be re-elected in 2020.
"I really hate to say it, but sometimes I do believe that Trump will be winning," Bardi said during the appearance, further confessing that she doesn't see many folks rallying behind one specific Democratic candidate. "Just because due to the fact that every single time I don’t see nobody saying they love a Democratic candidate. There’s no candidate that people are saying like we love, we want them to win."
While Cardi B has previously shown her support for Senator Bernie Sanders in the past, the rapper also admitted that she wanted to do so with every candidate but she just didn't have the time. "I really wanted some of my fans to ask questions that they would like a candidate to answer. And I’ve really been a fan of Bernie’s for a long time," she continued. "I always felt like he was really passionate, and I had to ask him, ‘A lot of people think that the things that you’re going to do is not possible, you’re too progressive, it’s not possible.'"
As for Chance, the rapper said that he believes the same simply because he has the largest fanbase. "The reason that we keep getting Presidents that we don't want is because we keep getting tricked into thinking we have a choice," he admitted. "I totally believe—and y'all can quote me on this a couple years down the line—I think Trump is going to win again at the next election because he's got the biggest base."
"The next President after Donald Trump will be our first-ever independent President," he continued. "And if they not independent, they'll be from a fringe party.
