Lizzo Faces Lawsuit After Ordering Food Delivery In Boston

A Postmates delivery person is hitting Lizzo with a lawsuit.

According to TMZ, a woman named Tiffany Wells is suing the “Truth Hurts” artist for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress after the 31-year-old publicly accused Wells of stealing her food delivery order in September. “Hey @Postmates this girl Tiffany W. stole my food she lucky I don’t fight no more,” Lizzo tweeted to her millions of followers at the time with an image of Wells’ face.

However, when it was all said and done, Wells was ultimately validated in the situation by Postmates, and claims she made extra efforts than what was required of her to locate Lizzo at her Boston hotel room but to no avail — so she left. The day after, the “Juice” musician would issue a public apology for putting Wells on blast and even admitted the worker had done nothing wrong.

“I apologize for putting that girl on blast. I understand I have a large following and that there were so many variables that could’ve put her in danger,” Lizzo tweeted in light of the mixup. “Imma really be more responsible with my use of social media and check my petty and my pride at the door.”

Unfortunately, the damage had already been done. As Wells' attorneys claim, ever since Lizzo exposed her identity amid the accusation, she's received public backlash and threats from the singer's fans, which has made Wells afraid of leaving her home. While she no longer works for Postmates, Wells alleges she's become the target of ridicule and humiliation and now lives in constant fear and increased anxiety because of the matter.
