The Fight Continues

Hearing the Breonna Taylor verdict brought me back to the day that George Zimmerman was found not guilty of shooting and killing Treyvon Martin. The same feeling of depression, sadness, and the ill feeling that America will never view us as equal. This feeling has been very repetitive over the course of my life like a broken record. The difference between then and now is that the world is starting to open up and talk about oppression, racism, and police brutality more than ever. Although we may want to sometimes give up the fight especially when the America we live in isn’t protecting their own citizens based off of the color of our skin, ultimately we cannot give up. As older generations die and younger generations move into positions of power, we have to make it our duty to vote and put the best officials in positions of power. Breonna, the fight for you is not over.
