That is exactly the luck one unnamed Illinois resident experienced as part of Wednesday's (October 3) Powerball drawing. The fortunate lottery player used the modern wonders of the Illinois Lottery app to win a whopping $1 million, and the rest is history!
In addition to downloading the lottery app, the winner matched all five numbers correctly to win the jackpot, (including numbers 1-2-21-37-43), without even having to drive to a store and purchase a lottery ticket in person.
Illinois Lottery mentioned that while a few people around the country won a cool million as part of the latest Powerball drawing, no one has taken home the $274 million jackpot as the prize fund increases.
The next lottery prize could be yours for just $2 (whether you purchase a ticket online or in store), and $3 if you decide to add the power play option which allows you to "multiply non-jackpot prizes."
The next exciting drawing will take place on Saturday (October 5) and, regardless of how large the jackpot gets each week, the Illinois Lottery continues to encourage players to purchase lottery tickets "for fun, not funds!"
