Seems like Oprah is still as generous today as she was 20 years ago, except this time "You get a car,you gt a house, you get my wallet!" isn't in her vocabulary. It's something a bit better. Oprah Winfrey donates $500,000 to a Newark, New Jersey high school on the West Side. Principal, Akbar Cook, created a program where he opens the school every Friday night so students had somewhere to go at night, and Winfrey fully supports. The "Lights On" program consists of approximately 400 students. Not only did she donate half a million to the organization, but she gave the students Shop Rite gift cards and held a pizza party to spend some time. Looks like Oprah's still got it, can we borrow some?
