OREGON COACH SAVES STUDENTS FROM SHOTGUN SHOOTER

Former football star turned high school coach is being deemed as a hero after tackling an armed student in Portland, Oregon. The situation occurred shortly before noon, Friday at the Parkrose High school. Keanon Lowe ,former wide receiver for The University of Oregon Ducks. Granados Dias, a student enrolled in the school, reportedly arrived to school and walked into the classroom with a shotgun, said in a statement by Portland Police Department. Officers say the student was then tackled to the ground by an administration, parents and students identified as Lowe, who also does security in addition to coaching at the high school.

Lowe voiced his reaction to the incident recently on twitter Saturday afternoon saying 'He wants to be apart of the solution to gun violence."

“I commend the school staff member who displayed quick actions and bravery when he confronted the subject," said Portland Police Chief Danielle Outlaw.
