THE MISSING 4 YEAR OLD GIRL MALEAH DAVIS REMAINS MAY BEEN FOUND

Houston police believe the remains of a child found in Southwest Arkansas on Friday may

belong to missing 4-year-old Maleah Davis, who was murdered by her step-father. The focus of

the search moved to Arkansas after the suspect in her disappearance allegedly confessed to

dumping her body there. A month has passed passed since little Maleah Davis was last seen

alive. The 4-year-old girl vanished after being pictured on surveillance footage entering her

Houston apartment with her mother’s ex-fiance, Derion Vence, who police said told them three

men abducted the child several days later. Maleah’s mother, Brittany Bowens, said she left town

for father’s funeral in Massachusetts, leaving her daughter and the young son she shares with

Vence in his care. On May 5th, an Amber Alert was issued for Maleah, who authorities said had

undergone multiple brain surgeries, including one in late March, and was in need of medical

care. Earlier on Friday, suspect Derion Vence told an activist who visited him in jail that he had

dumped Maleah's in body in Arkansas. "One thing he wanted to make clear to me was (that) what

happened to Maleah was an accident, he says it was an accident. And he confessed to me where

he dumped the body", Houston community activist Quanell said.
