According to officials the fire started right around 2 am on the second floor the building located at, 6900 S Parnell. 37-year-old Dante Copeland who is paralyzed as a result of being shot was in the home. When Firefighters were informed of Copeland's condition they went after him immediately. Copeland was removed from the home and taken to St. Bernard's hospital and treated. Copeland along with another family have been displaced as a result of the fire. If you would like to donate to these families Red Cross is assisting them.
