According to Fox32news, the auto theft crisis is becoming more alarming for Chicago land residents. From January 29th through February 4th a total of 457 cars were stolen, about 65 thefts per day. On Tuesday a car was stolen from the south suburban town Riverdale, the driver collided with a red vehicle in the 6300 block of South Stewart trying to flee the scene. Residents want a safety plan in action, "This safety plan isn't just on CPD and the city of Chicago. This is on all of us as neighbors," Taylor said. A community meeting is scheduled for Thursday (Feb 8) at Sherwood Park from 6 pm to 8 pm, located at 5701 South Shields.
