According to ABC 7, Howard University has officially parted ways with Sean "Diddy" Combs, after the release of a 2016 video of him physically assaulting his former girlfriend and R&B singer Cassie, in the hallway of a hotel they both were staying at.

"Mr. Combs behavior as captured in a recently released video is so fundamentally incompatible with Howard University core values and faiths that he has deemed no longer worthy to hold the institutions highest honor," a statement from the university's Board of Trustees.

Combs honorary degree was received in 2014, and on Friday, the board unanimously voted to revoke his degree. Not only did they take away his degree, but also cutting ties financially with him by returning the $1 Million contribution, scholarship program, and the 2023 pledge of the Sean Combs Foundation.

Since the video came out of him assaulting Cassie, Combs has apologized for his actions. Cassie filed a lawsuit in November of last year against Combs, but settled the next day.
