Beyoncé's "Cowboy Carter" Not Nominated for Country Music Award

According to NBC, the Country Music Awards announced their nominations on Monday, and fans were not happy about Beyoncé not being on the list.

The Houston native released "Cowboy Carter" in March, earlier this year. "The criticism I faced when I first entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me," she wrote on her Instagram.

Fans assumed her 2016 CMA performance with the country group The Chicks was the backlash she received when performing "Daddy Lessons."

However, Beyoncé not being nominated for "Cowboy Carter" paved the way for other black country artists including Linda Martell, Brittney Spencer, Reyna Roberts, Tiera Kennedy, Tanner Ardell, and Shaboozey who were all featured on her album to be recognized.

Shaboozey took to X to thank Beyoncé for opening doors that they were not welcomed in. He currently is nominated for New Artist of the Year and his song "Tipsy" was nominated for Single of the Year.
