Snoop addressed the criticism he received over performing at the Crypto Ball honoring Donald Trump's inauguration on Instagram Live over the weekend. He urged his fans not to stress over decisions he is choosing to make in his life stating "It's Sunday man, I got gospel in my heart. For all that hate, I'm going to answer with love. Y'all can't hate enough on me. I love too much...Get your life right stop worrying about mine. I'm cool, I'm together. Still a Black man, still 100 percent Black."
Fans stated they were surprised by his performance since Snoop has been so openly critical about Trump and his administration during his first presidency. Stephen A. Smith came to the rappers defense saying it was simply a "business move" and an effort to support David Saks stating "David Saks is someone who Snoop has had a relationship with for decades... David Saks is that cat when nobody else put their hand out offering dollars to Snoop's football league and beyond–that brother does it!"
It's also worth noting that in an interview Snoop did in the London Sunday Times January 2024, Snoop stated he had "nothing but love and respect" for Trump and that he appreciated Trump pardoning Death Row Records co-founder and former CEO Michael Harris. "He ain't done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris."
