According to NBC News, the first day of Diddy's sex trafficking trial began Monday with opening statements being heard from both sides. The prosecution claims that the mogul ran a criminal enterprise to fund and facilitate his "freak offs", while the defense states that while he was jealous and occasionally violent, all participants consented to their involvement. The first witness called was a former hotel security guard who responded to the 2016 incident where Cassie was seen being assaulted by Diddy on video. The second witness was a male escort who claims to have been paid to have sex with Cassie and witnessed Diddy's violent behavior towards her.
