According to WGN, Mexican Independence Day celebrations are scheduled to continue despite the uptick in ICE arrests in the city. Latino community leaders are staying strong and asking the community to join in celebrating their culture in spite of the intimidation of the immigration police. The 54th Mexican Independence Day Parade will take place this Sunday, beginning on 26th street at noon.
