"Top Gun: Maverick" has grossed over one billion worldwide. The Tom Cruise feature joins 49 other blockbusters to reach the landmark. Of these 50 films, "Top Gun: Maverick" has the fourth-highest rotten tomatoes rating with 97%: "Toy Story 4," "Toy Story 3," and "Zootopia" only rate equivalent or higher. The top-grossing features of all time are still "Avatar," "Avengers: Endgame," "Titanic," and "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens." Tom Cruise thanked movie-goers for the box office resurgence on Twitter: "To all the films in release, to all the studios, and to all the exhibitors: congratulations.
