Chicago-born Jennifer Hudson will be presented with the second annual "Favorite Humanitarian" award at the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday. 

The singer and actress is being recognized for founding the Julian D. King Gift Foundation with her sister following the murder of Jennifer's 7-year-old nephew.

According to its website, the organization "provides stability, support and positive experiences for children of all backgrounds to help enable them to grow to be productive, confident and happy adults."

The award is accompanied by a $100,000 donation to the Foundation. Fans are able to help increase the donation by up to an additional $100,000 by downloading the Walgreen's app and clicking on the People’s Choice Awards icon starting Wednesday.
